How It Works

The Fake Data Generator builds a table of plausible synthetic records from the columns you define. Each column has a name and a field type; the generator draws localized, realistic values for every row. Everything runs client-side — no data is uploaded or stored.

  • Locale-aware — names, cities, and countries are drawn from locale-specific word lists, so a German locale yields German names and cities while a Japanese locale yields Japanese ones.
  • Custom columns — add, rename, reorder, and remove columns freely; mix person, address, company, commerce, and time fields in a single table.
  • Reproducible — supply a seed to get the exact same data every time, which is handy for stable test fixtures and diffs.
  • Export anywhere — download as CSV for spreadsheets and databases, or JSON for APIs and code, and copy JSON straight to the clipboard.
  • Fast & private — generate up to 5,000 rows instantly without any data leaving your browser.

Common Use Cases

  • Database seeding — populate development and staging databases with realistic rows.
  • UI & demo data — fill tables, dashboards, and prototypes with believable sample content.
  • Load & QA testing — generate large, varied data sets to exercise edge cases.
  • Anonymization — replace sensitive production data with synthetic equivalents that keep the same shape.
  • Documentation — produce example CSV / JSON payloads for tutorials and API docs.
